Services

Continuum Education and Therapy offers educational and therapeutic services to children with developmental disabilities with a growth plan to include services through adulthood. Continuum was formed out of a need for quality educational and therapeutic services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Current programming is focused on preschool to elementary aged children. Continuum has highly trained staff that consists of Behavior Analysts, Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Registered Behavior Technicians and Paraprofessionals.

Early Intensive Behavior Intervention Preschool Program

The EIBI Preschool Program at Continuum is a highly individualized program that utilizes ABA curriculum to design a comprehensive treatment plan for children who need substantial support with 1:1 instruction. The treatment plan is designed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Curriculum used may include Early Start Denver Model, Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment, and/or the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills.

This program is based on a developmental model and addresses communication, social skills, gross motor, fine motor, cognition, and daily living skills. Consultation is conducted with Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, as needed. Treatment is carried out by Registered Behavior Technicians. The program are dependent on need and generally range from 3 hours a day to 7 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Intensive Behavior Intervention
Life Skills Program

IBI-Life Skills Program will focus on children from 5-9 years old who require very substantial support in a 1:1 program and benefit from skills that will help them gain independence and communication skills. This child’s program is designed and supervised by a BCBA.

Curriculum used can include the Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills-R, Assessment of Functional Living Skills, and the Essential for Living. The program hours are dependent on the child’s need and generally range from 3 hours a day to 7 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) Preschool

The Early intervention Preschool Program will serve children 3-5 years old who require a moderate level of support. This program will use the ESDM and the VB-MAPP curriculum. The individual program plans are designed and supervised by an ESDM certified staff and/or a BCBA.

The support staff consists of RBTs and qualified paraprofessionals. The staff ratio ranges from 2:1 to 3:1 depending on individual needs. The program hours 3 hours a day (morning or afternoon), 5 days a week.

Preschool Transition Program

The Preschool Transition Program serves children 5-7 years old who require a moderate level of support. This program uses ESDM, VB-MAPP and other appropriate curriculum to support children in the skills needed to transition into kindergarten and/or elementary school services.

The staff ratio is dependent on the child’s need and ranges from 1:1 to 3:1. Support staff includes RBTs and qualified paraprofessionals. The individual programs are developed and supervised by a certified ESDM clinician or a BCBA. The program hours are half day (morning or afternoon), 5 days a week.

School Age
Program

The School Age Program will serve children in kindergarten to 3rd grade who require a moderate to substantial level of support. This program will use VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, as well as academic curriculum and other appropriate curriculum to support children in the skills needed to support elementary school services.

The staff ratio will be dependent on the child’s need and could range from 1:1 to 4:1. Support staff includes qualified paraprofessionals and RBTs. The individual programs are developed and supervised by a BCBA. The program hours are dependent on need but will typically be 7 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Family Support
Services

Family education is offered on a scheduled basis to help facilitate understanding of how to best support their family members outside of therapy. Family support services can also include team collaboration with the schools, vocational technology centers, service coordinators or any other service provider the family wishes to include.

Workshops are offered to family members on topics including but not limited to behaviors, toilet training, sleep, picky eating, and other relevant topics.

Outpatient Clinical Services

  • Occupational Therapy helps kids with disabilities learn how to do everyday things like putting on socks and shoes, eating, playing with toys, focusing on learning and writing.

  • Speech-Language Pathologists help children communicate effectively with others through verbal and non-verbal skills.

  • Applied Behavior Analysis is a therapy for children that supports learning, daily living and social skills.
